Longest Week Ever

Yes I am still around! I have just been very busy here lately.
I am trying to get the house in order for a weekend with my stepkids and Kacey's 1st birthday party, while still taking the time to sew. It seems like Saturday is never going to get here. But I know the less prepared I am the faster its coming!

The giveaway at This Flourishing Life went great. Two wonderful mamas won my covers. One is already done and ready to be shipped.  I have to get out this weekend and find some wool to do the other. All the wool I had here got ruined.

I have been working on AIOs for Kacey. They are much easier for daddy to use. So far it's been great. I think I like sewing them better than pockets! It seems to be much faster. The drying time is slightly longer than pockets but the petal style soaker cuts down on it quite a bit. Hopefully I will have a stocked store soon and you'll be able to try them out!

In the works right now aside from the giveaway covers, I am getting together a major fabric order that includes PUL, fleece, flannel, terry, cotton knits and some other notions. I am also trying to convince the hubby I need a serger. It would allow me to make diapers faster and add some new products too. Hopefully in the next month I can get one.

So it looks like 4 products will go in the store when it's ready to open. Fleece covers and soakers, wool covers and soaker, pockets diapers and AIOs. My goals are becoming realities. It's just taking time to do.

Until next time, enjoy life!

Last week seemed like it was never going to end. I am still working on fitteds for a shower gift.

I do have some new patterns I am going to start working on this week I hope. Now that I have an almost one year old toddler and a very over active 5 yr old my sewing time is very limited. I can sew during nap time for one as long as the other is occupied. We are also starting the "Teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons" book this week with my 5 yr old. So that too will take up some time. Hopefully I will be able to get both boys in a routine and set up one for my sewing time!

New things are in the works. I am trying to gather up materials to add 3 new products by June.
I hope to get a few pictures on the blog this week! Have a great week!

Welcome to 2012...

It's a new year with new goals for me, business wise any way.
I will try to post a new blog post twice a week.
I will keep you up to date on what new things I have in the works.
I will add at least two new items by June!
Those are my plans for 2012 with the new business adventure. I decided not to set any personal resolutions because I never follow thur with them. This year is the year to focus on the business and that's what I intend to do.

So what am I working on right now? Fitteds! I love them and yes I know a cover goes over them but they are super easy to use and with my squirmy 11 & 1/2 month old getting him to stay still for a diaper change is impossible at times. They make great shower gifts too! And can be made from any absorbent fabric. Old flannel sheets, blankets and t shirts are great to use.

My mom text last night and said she picked me up a diaper pattern book. That was awesome to here since I am always going to her house to print patterns. So maybe a new pattern for the new year!

I also have the giveaway at This Flourishing Life coming up this month. It's a blog hop with different blogs offering different giveaways. I have a free for the shipping fleece soaker and wool cover up for grabs.
What's the difference? Both are water repellant and very breathable and comfortable. Both are great for over night use.
A fleece soaker is made of two layers of anti pill fleece with a sewn in 2 to 3 layer soaker. You use a soaker with a prefold, flat or fitted. It pulls on and can have elastic in the waist and legs.
A wool cover is a layer of upcycled 100% wool or wool interlock. It has to be lanolized to make it repell. It goes over a prefold, flat or fitted just like a PUL cover. It's great over night for my little guy.

I hope everyone has a great week!

This weeks update...

Facebook is now live! I updated today with pictures. It still has some room for improvements but I'm learning. Hopefully I will have a new computer and internet at home soon so updating will be easier. As I get my hands on more fabric I will be able to have pictures of my stock and you will have more choices. I am getting things as quickly as I can.  We have 2 birthdays in the next two weeks and family comes before business since my boys are turning 5 and 1! I am taking semi customs orders through my Facebook page. I have the giveaway coming up in a few days too. I hope everyone had a great Christmas. The new year is just around the corner!

News worthy of sharing....

I had an opportunity fall in my lap today. Erica over at "This Flourishing Life" had a sponsor back out on her, completely not the sponsors fault, for a Winter Wonder Land blog hop and giveaways. So I jumped on board and quickly offered up a fleece soaker and upcycled wool cover. I am so glad I decided to jump on Facebook while I was cooking dinner. So since I jumped at this chance I need to get my behind in gear and do some shopping and get my business ready to go.

So after talking everything over with my husband I decided I was going to open my business a little early and completely different than what I thought I was going to do. Antionette's Fluff and Stuff will be opening on Facebook and doing only semi custom orders for fleece soakers, fleece covers,  wool soakers and wool wraps. I will add different items as I get patterns and materials worked out.

What does semi custom mean? Unless you send me your fabric, you only get to pick gender, size and type and I will do rest.  I will try to let you pick fabric when I have lots on hand. I will let you request I use a certain theme. I will even let you add elastic. I will let you pick the materials for the soaker so what you want is closest to baby's skin. As I build up materials for my business I will add more options for you.

I am super excited to get started and looking forward to what this door opens for me and my family!

Welcome to my blog!!!

Welcome to my blog! Right now it's a work in progress. Hopefully very soon you'll be able to see the cloth diapers, covers, fleece soakers, and such I will be making to sell as well as any products I review from other WAHMs or manufacturers. There will probably be a few posts about my family and such.
I am excited about starting my own business as  well as my blog. I hope to be up and running after the first of the year but who knows. Life is crazy and often puts obstacles in the way that delay things so we shall see.
